A long-term U.S. partner sent us a North American product sample and asked our team to develop a comparable solution. This water-based acrylic chinking sealant is intended to fill, seal, and visually finish the wide joints between logs while preserving the traditional appearance of mortar.
Its defining development targets are a matte, fine-grained mortar-look surface and very high elasticity. The formula is also being developed around the qualities expected from a premium water-based product: very low VOC, water and UV resistance, washability, and paintability. Final performance values and market claims are confirmed against the approved sample and relevant test reports.
China's mature chemical supply chain, combined with Jiaobao's in-house formulation, manufacturing, and packaging capabilities, allows us to target comparable quality at a cost that can be as low as about one fifth of comparable U.S. products.
