Neutral cure silicone releases a non-acidic by-product during curing, making it a more broadly compatible choice for construction substrates than acetic cure silicone. It is commonly selected for glass, aluminum, coated metals, window and door systems, concrete, masonry, and facade joints, subject to grade and adhesion testing.
Its strong weathering, UV, temperature, and movement performance makes neutral silicone suitable for exterior joints and professional building applications where long-term elasticity and lower odor are important.
For curtain-wall weathersealing or structural glazing, the product grade, joint design, substrate compatibility, adhesion testing, and applicable project standards must be confirmed. A general-purpose neutral sealant must not be presented as a structural glazing product without the required testing and approval.

How is neutral silicone different from acetic silicone?
Neutral silicone has lower odor and is generally less corrosive, so it is better suited to metals, coated materials, masonry, and mixed construction substrates. Acetic silicone usually cures faster and is well suited to compatible glass, ceramic, tile, and sanitary applications.
Can neutral silicone be used for curtain walls?
